Dr. Lee Yee Qin is a Lecturer in the Malaysia School of Business at Monash University Malaysia. She obtained her Doctor of Philosophy in Business from Monash University Malaysia on March 2, 2025, following her Bachelor of Business and Commerce (Honours) in 2020 and Bachelor of Business and Commerce in 2019 from the same university. Her academic excellence was recognized early with the Dean's Honour List and Best Thesis Award during her Honours studies, and she received the Monash Graduate Research Excellence Scholarship for her doctoral research. In her teaching career, Dr. Qin has demonstrated outstanding performance, achieving a student evaluation score of 97/100. Serving as Chief Examiner for MGM2200 - Managerial Communication for Global Leaders (Semester 1, 2025) and MGW1010 - Introduction to Management (Semester 2, 2025), she earned commendation letters from the Early Semester Student Feedback Survey (ESSFS) and the Monash Purple Letter for exceptional leadership in MGM2200. Further accolades include the Education Excellence (Emerging Educator) Commendation and co-receipt of the Humanities, Arts and Social Sciences (HASS) Grant Scheme 2026.
Dr. Qin's research focuses on sustainable consumer behavior through a consumer psychology lens, examining how various stimuli affect consumer decision-making to encourage sustainable products and behaviors via experimental approaches. This work aligns with UN Sustainable Development Goals 3, 9, and 12. Her publications feature "Change the vaccination behavior in emerging countries: the role of network externalities and social influence" (Social Marketing Quarterly, 2025, with S.Y. Ewe and J.S.Y. Ho), "Case 5: Tesla’s Entry and the evolving dynamics of the electric vehicle market in Malaysia" (Marketing Case Studies in Emerging Markets, 2024, with S.Y. Ewe), "Role of evolutionary psychology in green behaviour" (2024, with S.Y. Ewe, M. Watabe, S. Malik), "Integrating impulse buying and the anchoring effect theory on essential and non-essential products" (AMA Winter Academic Conference, 2023, with S.Y. Ewe and G. Khan), and "The role of evolutionary psychology in consumers’ green behaviour" (2023, with S.Y. Ewe and M. Watabe). Her research has appeared in proceedings from EMAC, AMA, GMC, and ANZMAC. Dr. Qin contributes as a peer reviewer for Decision Sciences Journal of Innovative Education, Business and Society Review, and Entrepreneurship and Regional Development since 2025. She participates as a discussant on the Monash Business School Occupational Health and Safety Committee and the Academic Progress Committee.
