Dr. Soo Yeong Ewe is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Marketing within the Malaysia School of Business at Monash University Malaysia. She earned her PhD from Monash University Malaysia in 2017 with a thesis entitled "Recent Experience and Financial Decision Making: The Role of Regulatory Focus and Regulatory Closure." She previously obtained a Master of Economics from Universiti Malaya in 2002 and a Bachelor of Management with First Class Honours from Universiti Sains Malaysia in 1997. Possessing over 20 years of teaching experience in tertiary education complemented by corporate experience, she serves as an HRDF-accredited trainer available for corporate training.
Her research interests center on consumer psychology and behavior, particularly in sustainable marketing and consumption, financial decision making, personal selling and sales management, the marketing-finance interface, and technology adoption. She applies experimental designs in quantitative research and in-depth interviews in qualitative research. Publications appear in journals such as Journal of Personal Selling and Sales Management, International Journal of Bank Marketing, Marketing Intelligence and Planning, Journal of Behavioral and Experimental Finance, and Journal of Behavioral Finance. Key recent works include "Change the vaccination behavior in emerging countries: the role of network externalities and social influence" (2025, Social Marketing Quarterly), "Exploring the impact of network brokerage behavior in mutual fund retail markets" (2025, International Journal of Retail & Distribution Management), "Thai older saleswomen’s digital empowerment: CapCut impact on outcomes" (2025, Activities, Adaptation and Aging), and she co-edited "Marketing Case Studies in Emerging Markets: Contemporary Multi-industry Issues and Best-practices" (Springer). Ewe has received the Research Excellence (Open Category) Award (2025), School of Business Research SEED Grant (2025), Early Semester Student Feedback Survey Award (2024), and Humanities, Arts and Social Sciences Grant Scheme (2026). She advises the Business Studies curriculum board of the Malaysian Independent Chinese Secondary School Working Committee and acts as a commissioner for the Tzu Chi Foundation.
