Professor Yingjun Zhang is Professor and Dean of the College of Grassland Science and Technology at China Agricultural University. He serves as Secretary General of the Chinese Grassland Society and Chief Scientist for China’s Forage and Grassland Research System. In 2015, he received the Changjiang Scholarship from the Ministry of Education for his contributions to grassland and forage studies. Additional honors include the John Dillon Memorial Fellowship Award, recognition as an Outstanding Scientist from the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs of China and the China Association for Science and Technology, and designation as a New Century Excellent Talent by the Ministry of Education.
Professor Zhang’s research focuses on grassland management and ecology as well as forage production and utilization. He has authored or co-authored 167 refereed papers as first or corresponding author, with publications appearing in journals such as Ecological Monographs, New Phytologist, Journal of Ecology, Ecology, Agriculture Ecosystems & Environment, Soil Biology and Biochemistry, and Plant and Soil. He is a member of the Continuing Committee of the International Rangeland Congress, has delivered plenary addresses at the 22nd International Grassland Congress in 2013 and the 8th International Rangeland Congress in 2016, and serves as associate editor for Grass and Forage Science and Rangeland Ecology and Management.
