About Yoshiyuki

Yoshiyuki Nonoguchi is Professor in the Faculty of Materials Science and Engineering at Kyoto Institute of Technology. He earned a Master of Engineering in 2007 and a Doctor of Engineering in 2009 from the Nara Institute of Science and Technology. His career includes positions as Research Assistant Professor, Assistant Professor, and Junior Associate Professor at Nara Institute of Science and Technology, followed by roles at Kyoto Institute of Technology as Junior Associate Professor from 2021 and Associate Professor from 2024 before his appointment as Professor in 2026. He also serves as Adjunct Professor at Nara Institute of Science and Technology and holds an affiliation with the Institute of Innovation for Future Society at Nagoya University. Nonoguchi is a co-founder of fff fortississimo inc.

His research centers on carbon materials chemistry, with emphasis on semiconducting carbon nanotubes, organic thermoelectrics, nanomaterial dispersion in solvents, and applications in thermoelectric conversion and infrared detection. He has received awards including the Chemical Communications 2023 Pioneering Investigators recognition, the 2022 Research Encouragement Award from the Carbon Materials Society of Japan, and the 2018 Emerging Investigators designation from the Journal of Materials Chemistry A. Nonoguchi contributes to editorial committees for journals such as Carbon Reports and Tanso, and holds leadership roles including vice chair of the Next Generation Committee of the Carbon Materials Society. He has delivered numerous invited presentations on topics including carbon nanotube dispersion, thermoelectric materials, and green transformation initiatives.
