About Yujie

Yujie Xiong is the Cheung Kong Chair Professor of Chemistry at the University of Science and Technology of China (USTC) and President of Anhui Normal University. He received his B.S. degree in chemical physics from the Special Class for the Gifted Young at USTC in 2000 and his Ph.D. degree in inorganic chemistry from USTC in 2004. From 2004 to 2009, he served as a Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Washington in Seattle and as a Research Associate at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He was the Principal Scientist of the National Nanotechnology Infrastructure Network site at Washington University in St. Louis from 2009 to 2011 before joining the USTC faculty as Professor of Chemistry in 2011. He currently serves as Associate Editor of ACS Materials Letters.

Prof. Xiong’s research focuses on the development of intelligent, integrated catalytic systems through catalyst and reactor design, integrating chemistry, biology, fluid dynamics, and artificial intelligence. He has published more than 300 scientific papers with over 55,000 citations and an H-index of 120, and is recognized as a Highly Cited Researcher by Clarivate Analytics. His honors include the 2019 Chem Soc Rev Pioneering Investigator Lectureship Award from the Royal Society of Chemistry, the 2018 Distinguished Lectureship Award from the Chemical Society of Japan, the 2015 Biomatik Distinguished Faculty Award, election as a Fellow of the European Academy of Sciences, the ASEAN Academy of Engineering and Technology, the European Academy of Sciences and Arts, the Royal Society of Chemistry, the Singapore National Institute of Chemistry, and the Chinese Chemical Society, as well as the National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars of China.
