Yuliani (Yuli) Suseno is Honorary Professor in the Newcastle Business School, College of Human and Social Futures, at the University of Newcastle, Australia. Previously, she held the position of Associate Professor in Innovation and Entrepreneurship and Assistant Dean Research Training at the Faculty of Business and Law within the University of Newcastle. Before joining the University of Newcastle, Yuli worked at several universities in Australia and the United Kingdom, following industry experience and completion of her PhD at the University of Queensland. She earned a Master of Science in Management of Technology from the National University of Singapore, receiving the National Science and Technology Board Gold Medal as the best graduate and the National Computer Board Book Prize for top performance in Information Technology management. Her Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Western Australia placed her in the top 2-3% of all undergraduates in the Faculty of Economics and Commerce. Yuli has served as a visiting scholar at the Stockholm School of Economics, Xi'an Jiaotong-Liverpool University in China, University of Muenster, Atma Jaya Catholic University in Indonesia, National Cheng-Chi University in Taiwan, and the British University in Dubai.
Her research specializations include entrepreneurship, innovation management, social capital and social networks, human resource management, and strategy, with fields of research allocated as innovation management (50%), entrepreneurship (30%), and human resources management (20%). Yuli Suseno has published in ABDC A* and A journals such as Journal of Strategic Information Systems, Asia Pacific Journal of Management, International Journal of Human Resource Management, Technological Forecasting and Social Change, Information Technology & People, Systems Research and Behavioral Science, and Australian Journal of Public Administration. Key publications encompass 'Assessing value creation in digital innovation ecosystems: A Social Media Analytics approach' (Journal of Strategic Information Systems, 2018), 'Building social capital and human capital for internationalization: The role of network ties and knowledge resources' (Asia Pacific Journal of Management, 2018), 'The Systems Perspective of National Innovation Ecosystems' (Systems Research and Behavioral Science, 2018), 'Social Capital in the Asia Pacific: Examples from the Services Industry' (book, 2018), and 'Human Resource Management in Australia' (2nd edition, book, 2017). She serves on the Editorial Board of Asia Pacific Business Review. Among her awards are the Management Discipline Award and Dean's Award for Excellence in Undergraduate Teaching from Edith Cowan University, Aspire University Professional Development Award from the Perth Convention Bureau, Best Doctoral Paper Award, Best Paper in Business Policy and Strategy at the 18th Australian and New Zealand Academy of Management Conference, Australian Postgraduate Award (Industry) Scholarship under ARC SPIRT, University of Queensland Mid-year Postgraduate Research Scholarship, and Baillieu Research Scholarship.
