Dr. Yuni Yuningsih is a Senior Lecturer in the School of Accounting, Economics and Finance, Faculty of Business and Law at Curtin University in Perth, Australia. She holds a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) and a Master of Commerce (MCom) from Curtin University, complemented by her certification as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA). Prior to joining Curtin University, she accumulated over 15 years of teaching experience at the university level in both postgraduate and undergraduate programs. Her research interests include behavioural research in accounting, performance management, corporate governance, education, behavioural aspects of accounting, and intellectual capital disclosures. Dr. Yuningsih has made significant contributions to academic literature through peer-reviewed publications in reputable journals. Notable works include 'Carbon Reduction Initiatives, Corporate Governance and Sustainability Assurance—Do Multiple Directorships and Board Tenure Matter?' (Sustainability, 2025, co-authored with Yeut Hong Tham, Puji Handayati, Zhiyue Sun, and Tatas Ridho Nugroho), 'ESG Performance and Corporate Governance—The Moderating Role of the Big Four Auditors' (Journal of Risk and Financial Management, 2025, co-authored with Puji Handayati, Yeut Hong Tham, Zhiyue Sun, and Tatas Ridho Nugroho), 'Audit quality, corporate governance, firm characteristics and CSR disclosures—Evidence from Indonesia' (Journal of Corporate Accounting & Finance, 2022, co-authored with Puji Handayati and Yeut Hong Tham), 'A longitudinal study of voluntary disclosure quality in the annual reports of H-share companies' (Accounting Research Journal, 2017), and 'The nature and extent of voluntary intellectual capital disclosures by Australian listed biotechnology firms' (Journal of Intellectual Capital, 2010). Her research has garnered over 64 citations.
In her teaching role, Dr. Yuningsih coordinates and delivers units such as ACCT3001 Accounting, Behaviour and Control and ACCT6002 CPA Strategic Management Accounting. She actively supports student global experiences, serving as a contact for Business and Law short-term programs like study tours. Dr. Yuningsih contributes to the scholarly community as an editorial board member and peer reviewer for international journals including Jurnal Akuntansi dan Manajemen Laba, Jurnal Pengabdian Bisnis dan Manajemen, and others. She has delivered invited guest lectures at universities in Indonesia on topics including strategic management accounting, career success, risk management, greenwashing, reputational risk, and the impact of artificial intelligence on the accounting profession. Her work enhances understanding of corporate governance mechanisms, sustainability reporting, and accounting education practices.
