About Yuosre

Professor Yuosre Badir serves as Dean and Professor of Technology and Innovation Management at the School of Management, Asian Institute of Technology (AIT). He obtained his Ph.D. in Management of Technology from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Lausanne (EPFL) in 2006, a Master's in Logistics and Supply Chain Management from EPFL in 2000, an M.Sc. in Project Management from Universiti Putra Malaysia in 1998, and a B.Sc. in Civil Engineering from the University of Benghazi, Libya, in 1993. Joining AIT in 2008 as Assistant Professor, he progressed to Associate Professor in 2015 and Full Professor in 2024. His prior roles include Postdoctoral Researcher at Tokyo Institute of Technology from 2007 to 2008, Research Associate at EPFL from 2001 to 2006, Visiting Scholar at New York University Stern School of Business in 2005, and Lecturer at the European University in Geneva. At AIT, he has also served as Faculty Director of PhD and DBA Programs since 2017 and Associate Dean prior to his appointment as Interim Dean in 2024 and Dean effective January 2025.

Professor Badir's research centers on managing technological innovation, digital transformation, green innovation, and employee innovativeness, particularly in small and medium-sized enterprises within emerging markets. His publications appear in prestigious journals such as Journal of the Academy of Marketing Science, IEEE Transactions on Engineering Management, Technological Forecasting and Social Change, and Journal of Product Innovation Management. Notable works include 'Employee-level open innovation in emerging markets: linking internal, external, and managerial resources' (2020), 'Achieving Digital Transformation: The Effect of Open Innovation Strategies at Different Stages of SME Development in an Emerging Market' (2024), and 'Translating green strategic intent into green process innovation performance: the role of green intellectual capital' (2021). He has co-edited books like Tropical House Design Handbook (Routledge, 2024) and Business and Management in Asia: Digital Innovation and Sustainability (Springer, 2022). His scholarship has earned best paper awards at the Australian and New Zealand Marketing Academy Conference in 2016 and 2017, along with recognition for high-impact articles, amassing over 7,400 citations. Professor Badir frequently delivers keynote speeches and invited lectures on innovation management and sustainable practices.
