Dr. Mohammad Zahid Hasan is a Senior Lecturer in Economics and Finance at the University of Notre Dame Australia, Sydney Campus, within the School of Law and Business. He joined the university in 2011 as a lecturer and currently teaches courses including Econometrics, Microeconomic Theory and Policy, Corporate Finance, and International Finance. Dr. Hasan holds a PhD in Energy and Financial Economics from Western Sydney University, Australia. His research interests focus on energy price shocks, renewable energy markets, sustainability, stock market dynamics, and contagion risk.
Dr. Hasan's publications have appeared in top-ranked journals such as Energy Policy, Resources Policy, and The Economic Record. Key works include 'Solar energy penetration and volatility transmission to electricity markets-An Australian perspective' (Economic Analysis and Policy, 2021, with A. Abban), 'Revisiting the determinants of renewable energy investment - New evidence from political and government ideology' (Energy Policy, 2021, with A. Abban), 'The causality direction between environmental performance and financial performance in Australian mining companies - A panel data Analysis' (Resources Policy, 2021, with A. Abban), 'Australian Coal Company Risk Factors: Coal and Oil Prices' (The International Journal of Business and Finance Research, 2014, with R.
