Zeeshan Khalid serves as a Lecturer at Curtin University Dubai. He completed his PhD in Mathematical Sciences at the United Arab Emirates University in 2023. His doctoral thesis, "Valuation of Asian Options in a High Volatility Market with Jumps," was conducted under the supervision of Prof. Youssef El-Khatib in the Department of Mathematical Sciences, College of Science. The research addresses core issues in financial mathematics and risk management, focusing on pricing financial derivatives through advanced jump diffusion models suitable for high volatility environments.
Khalid's research specializations are financial mathematics and machine learning. He developed a new method for valuing Asian options, a type of financial derivative known as average value options that depend on the average price of an underlying asset over a specified period. This innovation was highlighted at the Curtinnovation Awards 2023, an initiative by Curtin University to recognize research with significant potential benefits to society. The award specifically commended his contributions to improving the valuation of these derivatives in volatile markets.
At Curtin University Dubai, Khalid teaches in the Foundation Studies program, instructing courses such as Mathematical Foundation III (MATH0010) and Introduction to Chemistry (CHEM0004). These foundational courses equip students with essential mathematical and scientific skills for advanced studies. Additionally, he participated as a reviewer for the International Conference on Innovation, Sustainability and Applied Sciences (ICISAS-2025), hosted by Curtin University Dubai.
