About Zhenjiang

Dr. Zhenjiang You is an Adjunct Senior Lecturer in the School of Chemical Engineering within the Faculty of Engineering, Architecture and Information Technology at the University of Queensland. He earned a BEng in Engineering Mechanics and a PhD in Fluid Mechanics, both from Zhejiang University. His career includes positions as Senior Lecturer at the University of Queensland, Professor at China University of Petroleum Beijing, and affiliations with Edith Cowan University. You conducts research on mathematical modelling, numerical simulation, and experimental studies of flows in porous media, with applications in petroleum, chemical, mechanical, mining, civil engineering, energy, environment, and water resources. His specializations encompass colloidal and suspension transport in porous media, innovative technologies for enhanced gas and oil production, reservoir engineering, production engineering, geothermal industry, hydraulic fracturing, proppant transport, particle suspension, fines migration, fracture propagation, formation damage prevention, and unconventional reservoirs including coalbed methane. He has secured research funding from the Australian Research Council, NERA, DMITRE, ARENA, and various companies.

You has authored numerous impactful publications, including 'Fracture plugging failure under oil-based drilling fluids condition in deep geoenergy formations: A mesoscopic mechanical structure evolution perspective' (Powder Technology, 2026), 'Numerical modeling of pore-scale clogging behavior in particle-laden flows with rolling friction effects' (Powder Technology, 2026), 'Mechanism and material development of temperature activated bonding plugging for lost circulation control in deep fractured formations' (SPE Journal, 2025), 'Probing spatial variation in AFM-measured adhesion: Implication of distributed nanoscale charge heterogeneity' (Colloids and Surfaces A, 2025), 'Deep shale of lower Cambrian: implications for prospective shale gas resources' (Energy & Fuels, 2025), 'Particle mobilization in porous media: temperature effects on competing electrostatic and drag forces' (Geophysical Research Letters, 2015), and 'Asymptotic model for deep bed filtration' (Chemical Engineering Journal, 2014). He serves on the editorial board of Geoscience Frontiers and as a Section Board Member for Hydraulics and Hydrodynamics in Water. Among his honors are the Gas Science and Engineering 2024 Distinguished Scientist Award and the Doctoral Research Medal from the University of Adelaide in 2017. His work advances understanding of formation damage in geothermal reservoirs, fines migration in aquifers and oilfields, and strategies for coal seam gas production enhancement.
