Prof. Dr. Zuhairah Ariff Binti Abd Ghadas is a Professor in the Department of Law, Faculty of Law and International Relations at Universiti Sultan Zainal Abidin (UniSZA). She specializes in Business Law, holding a PhD in Business Law from Universiti Putra Malaysia (2002), a Master in Comparative Laws from International Islamic University Malaysia (1993), and an LL.B (Honours) in Business Law from the University of Huddersfield, United Kingdom (1991). Her distinguished career includes serving as Assistant Lecturer (1992-1993) and Lecturer (1993-2016) at the Ahmad Ibrahim Kulliyyah of Laws, International Islamic University Malaysia. She also acted as Group Legal Adviser at IIUM Holdings Sdn Bhd (2010-2014). Upon joining UniSZA in 2016, she became Legal Adviser (2014-2019), Dean of the Faculty of Law and International Relations for three terms (2016-2022), and currently serves as Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academic and International) (2022-2025). Additionally, she has been a Malaysia Productivity Corporation Associate since 2012.
Professor Ghadas's research focuses on business law, corporate governance, Shariah-compliant corporations, consumer protection, unfair contract terms, limited liability partnerships, and green construction contracts. Key publications include "Legal Issue Due to Unfair Contract Term: The Malaysia Perspective" (2020, Journal of Critical Reviews, with Farihana Abdul Razak), "Governance Issues in Malaysia Limited Liability Partnerships (LLP)" (2020, International Journal of Psychosocial Rehabilitation, with Hamizah Abdul Rahman), "The Propose Governance Framework for Shariah Corporation" (2019, International Journal of Law, Government and Communication, with Hartinie Abd Aziz), "Corporate Governance of Open and Distance Learning Institutions: Special Reference to Open University Malaysia" (2018, conference paper, with Tuan Fatma Tuan Sulaiman), and "Proposing Takaful as a Sustainable Financial Safety Net for Unsecured Creditors During Business Liquidation" (2026). With 259 citations, her contributions impact legal education and sustainable corporate practices in Malaysia.
