054-25 ASSISTANT PROFESSOR TO ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR (CONSTRUCTION MANAGEMENT)
The University of Guam is looking for an individual who is interested in new challenges and opportunities for professional and personal growth. The School of Engineering (SENG) was established at the University of Guam (UOG) to address the chronic shortage of local engineers in Guam and the other islands in the Western Pacific. SENG offers an ABET-accredited Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering (BSCE) and plans to launch a Bachelor of Science degree in Construction Management (BSCM) in Fall 2026. A new building is currently under construction and will house the School of Engineering, upon completion.
SENG is looking for an outstanding candidate with expertise in Construction Management. Appointment may be at assistant or associate professor rank, depending on experience and credentials. The successful candidate will be expected to: 1. Develop/teach undergraduate-level construction management/engineering courses, 2. Assist SENG personnel in BSCM program planning activities, 3. Pursue professional development that includes scholarly activities, 4. Contribute to the university through service activities such as serving in committees, and advising students, and 5. Build and maintain strong relationship with industry partners. Furthermore, an ability to contribute to other general learning outcomes including ethics, economics, and sustainability is also expected.
Minimum: A master’s degree in construction management, construction engineering, civil engineering, or a closely related discipline from a U.S. regionally accredited institution or foreign equivalent and a combination of at least five years of teaching and US construction management experience. Must be willing to teach online.
Preferred: A doctoral degree in construction management, construction engineering, civil engineering, or a closely related discipline; Professional Engineer registration and/or industry certifications; Scholarly, creative, and/or professional achievements; Demonstrated ability to work with diverse populations; and Experience working and teaching in online learning programs.
