Cyril and Methodius in Trnava, announces a selection procedure for filling: 1 position of a university teacher in the position of Professor in the field of study Economics and Management, at the Institute of Economics and Management of the Faculty of Social Sciences of the University of Ss. Cyril and Methodius in Trnava.

• The qualification requirement for appointment to the position of Professor is fulfilment of the criteria for obtaining the title of Professor issued by UCM.
• The qualification requirement for filling the position of Professor or Associate Professor also includes fulfilment of the general criteria for filling the positions of Professors and Associate Professors and the specific conditions for filling the positions of Professors at UCM.

• ability to guarantee a professionally oriented study programme;
• active scientific research and publication activity, with outputs registered in the Web of Science/Scopus databases;

Specific Requirements

Additional Requirements

• At least 10 years of professional experience in the field of Economics and Management outside academia, understood in particular as:
  • performance of managerial and analytical functions: direct experience in the private sector or public administration in managerial positions or as a project manager, economist, or in a position at least at the level of Senior Government Counsellor;
  • consulting and expert activities;
  • membership in corporate bodies: service on supervisory boards, boards of directors or management boards of commercial companies, non-profit organisations or civic associations;
  • own business activity: establishment and management of one's own company (limited liability company, joint-stock company, etc.) or active trade licence in the field of economic or management consulting;
• fulfilment of the prerequisites for employment in the public interest pursuant to Section 3 of Act No. 552/2003 Coll. on the Performance of Work in the Public Interest, in particular full legal capacity, integrity, fulfilment of qualification requirements and specific qualification requirements, where required by special legislation, and medical fitness for work, where required by special legislation;
• active knowledge of one foreign language.

Requirements in the Area of Teaching and Creative Activity

The applicant must demonstrate fulfilment of the requirements in the area of teaching and creative activity corresponding to the position being filled, in particular:

• active teaching experience in the relevant or related field of study;
• experience in teaching or ensuring the delivery of courses related to the position being filled;
• supervision of final theses, rigorous theses, doctoral dissertations or other qualification theses;
• active scientific research, development, artistic or other creative activity in the relevant or related field;
• publication activity corresponding to the position being filled;
• citations of scientific, professional or artistic work;
• participation in the implementation of scientific research, professional, artistic, educational or applied projects;
• ability to participate in the provision and development of the study programme in accordance with the relevant legislation, standards of the Slovak Accreditation Agency for Higher Education (SAAVŠ), and the internal regulations of UCM.

Expected Job Description

Creative solution of the most complex tasks related to the development of science and technology aimed at advancing knowledge in the field of study; creative application of research results in teaching; delivery of lectures; supervision of doctoral students; research or artistic activities and publication of their results; leadership of research or artistic teams, performed by a university teacher after obtaining a scientific-pedagogical or artistic-pedagogical title.
