12-Month Full-Time Contractually Limited Term Librarian I or II
About the Position
The Vaughan Memorial Library invites applications from candidates for a 12-month full-time contractually limited term position at the rank of Librarian I or Librarian II commencing on July 1st, 2026.
As a member of Research Services at the Vaughan Memorial Library, the successful candidate will take on liaison responsibilities for the Department of History & Classics and the Department of Community Development, as well as the coordinating responsibilities for equity, diversity, and inclusion, international students, and sustainability.
Liaison duties include but are not limited to: developing and delivering information literacy sessions; providing one-on-one research consultations for students and faculty in liaison departments; collections development and management in liaison subject areas; maintaining online research guides for liaison subject areas; communicating and collaborating with faculty and students in liaison departments.
The coordinating responsibilities involve connecting with student groups and other units on campus to develop or facilitate events, programming, training, promotions, and policy development specifically relating to EDI, international student life, and the environment.
The successful candidate will be expected to participate in scholarly and professional activity, which may include academic research and publication, and participation in academic and professional conferences. The candidate should have a demonstrated commitment to equity, diversity and inclusion in their work, and the interest and willingness to participate in service and administrative activities within the department, the university, and externally.
Salary Range:
- Librarian I: $72,359 - $91,959
- Librarian II: $83,559 - $103,159
Salary will be determined based on the experience and qualifications of the successful candidate.
Academic Qualifications
Master of Library Science or its equivalent from an institution accredited by the American Library Association or an equivalent organization
Preferred Qualifications
- Academic, professional, community-based, or lived experience in the areas of history, classics, and/or community development
- Experience developing or facilitating policy, programming and events related to EDI and/or the environment
- Experience delivering information literacy instruction or teaching in other capacities
