12-MONTH TERM POSITION – Department of Economics

The Department of Economics invites applications for a 12-month term position. The successful candidate will teach the following courses:

• 22.131 Principles of Economics
• 22.220 Monetary Institutions, Theory and Policy
• 22.382 Macroeconomics II

The successful candidate will join a department with supportive colleagues that are actively working towards equity, diversity, inclusion, and decolonization in their research and teaching programs. The candidate will have opportunities to develop their career and have access to a Professional Development Allowance. Additionally, multiple professional mentorship opportunities are available to the successful candidate. Willingness to participate collegially in service to the department, university, and the community that it serves will be expected.

The essential qualification is a PhD in Economics. The ability to teach Heterodox Economics will be considered an asset. ABD applicants nearing completion prior to the start date of the appointment may be considered. Applicants may seek to establish an experiential/traditional equivalency to the doctorate degree and are invited to contact the Office of the Dean of Arts for more information on how to establish equivalent academic or professional credentials.

Applicants must demonstrate teaching competence and expertise in the field and must have an active research agenda.

Expected Start Date: 1 August 2026.
Rank and Salary: commensurate with qualifications and experience
