14 postdoctoral fellowships to the BRIDGE – Translational Excellence Programme
The BRIDGE – Translational Excellence Programme at the University of Copenhagen is seeking 14 highly motivated and dynamic postdoc fellows to commence the programme on 1 September 2026. The programme is financed by the Novo Nordisk Foundation and aims to train fellows in translational medicine, mentored by professionals in basic biomedical research, clinical environments, and the life science industry. It includes 7 fellows with an MD background and 7 with an MSc background, appointed in labs at the Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences (SUND) or Faculty of SCIENCE (UCPH).
Fellows will spend 80% of their time on individual translational research projects covering stages T0 to T1 (and possibly early T2), mentored by a team including a basic biomedical scientist from SUND or SCIENCE, and a clinical scientist from hospitals in the Capital Region of Denmark or Region Zealand and/or the life science industry. The 55-day Academic Curriculum covers translational stages T0, T1, and early T2, including courses on research management, ethics, communication, and grant writing, comprising 20% of fellows’ time.
Eligibility requires an MD and PhD, or an MSc and PhD in relevant disciplines, with the PhD obtained no more than eight years before the application deadline (extensions for documented leave). Applicants must apply with a Mentor Team and have no more than two years of prior postdoc experience at UCPH departments.
Application deadline: 16 February 2026. For more information, visit https://bridge.ku.dk/research/ or contact Programme Manager Kathrine Bjerregaard Nielsen at bridge@sund.ku.dk.
