"20 doctoral positions in Quantum Sciences and Technologies – 2nd Call"

Job Details

Gen-Q is a doctoral training programme set up by the European Grouping of Territorial Cooperation (EGTC) Eucor – The European Campus. It provides 51 doctoral positions with an international, interdisciplinary and intersectoral focus. Each doctoral position lasts 48 months and culminates in the award of a doctoral degree.

For this second call 20 positions are available.

The doctoral research is carried out at the Gen-Q partner institutions:
University of Basel, Switzerland (2 positions)
Albert Ludwig University of Freiburg, Germany (1 position)
Karlsruhe Institute of Technology, Germany (7 positions)
University of Haute-Alsace, France (1 position)
University of Strasbourg, France (7 positions)
University of Amsterdam, Netherlands (2 positions)

The scientific orientation of the programme focuses on four main grand challenges:

1. overcoming noise in quantum devices
2. scaling up complexity in so-called qubits and sensors
3. developing quantum hardware
4. developing quantum software and hybrid computing

How to apply

Applications must be submitted via the form available on the website.

Candidates may apply for up to 2 topics. They may also suggest their own topic or modifications to a topic, in addition to one of the predefined topics. They have to clearly indicate their priority. We encourage you to read the guide of applicants thoroughly and contact your potential supervisors for more information about the topics before preparing an application.

A complete application must only consist of:

• Motivation letter
• CV
• Reference letter (cannot be provided by future potential supervisor)
• Ethics self-assessment

Only applications submitted until 18 March 17:00 (Brussels time) will be accepted for the evaluation process. Incomplete applications will be disregarded without notice.
