2026/2027 Adjunct Lecturer - Anthropology
SUMMARY
The Department of Anthropology at SUNY Brockport is seeking applicants for an anticipated part-time adjunct faculty opening to teach an undergraduate introductory course in-person.
JOB FUNCTIONS
Teaching (100%)
- Teaches in-person an assigned introductory course*
- Engages in experiential and hands-on education when appropriate
- Produces effective course materials
- Achieves student learning outcomes
- Holds open office hours for students
*Note: Anticipated course may be a survey course (covering three-fields of Anthropology: Cultural Anthropology, Biological Anthropology and Archaeology) or introductory sub-field course.
REQUIREMENTS
Minimum Qualifications:
- Master's degree in anthropology or a related field by the time of appointment from a college or university accredited by the U.S. Department of Education or an internationally recognized college or university, or appropriate level of experience commensurate with the adjunct lecturer responsibilities.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Doctorate in anthropology or related field from a college or university accredited by the U.S. Department of Education or an internationally recognized college/university
- Significant in-person undergraduate teaching experience
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Work Schedule: Variable
Salary and Benefits: $5,500 stipend per 3 credit course or 3 credit course equivalent. May be benefits eligible.
