North Carolina Cooperative Extension gives our residents easy access to the resources and expertise of NC State University and NC A&T State University. Through educational programs, publications, and events, Cooperative Extension field faculty deliver unbiased, research-based information to North Carolina citizens.

4-H is the largest youth development organization in the United States, operating as a non-formal, hands-on educational program for ages 5-18. With a focus on "learning by doing," it uses research-backed, university-led Cooperative Extension programs to teach leadership, civic engagement, and life skills through projects in agriculture, STEM, and healthy living.

Departmental Required Skills:
The minimum requirement for employment with the North Carolina Cooperative Extension (NCCE) is a high-school diploma or equivalent.

Preferred Experience, Skills, Training/Education:
One to three years of experience working with youth programming, or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Graduation from a two-year college or vocational/technical school with course emphasis in human relations and/or youth development or other relevant subject matters is preferred.

1. Experience in working with individuals, groups, and co-workers to accomplish goals
2. Experience in Google Suites, Canva, and Microsoft.
3. Experience in working with volunteers and youth ages 5-18.
4. Experience in coordinating events and educational activities.
5. Skill in planning a variety of educational programs for the target audiences.
6. Ability to work with broad audiences.

Necessary Licenses or Certifications:
Valid Driver's License and reliable transportation required and must be maintained. In order to operate a state vehicle, a valid Driver's License is also required and must be maintained.
