6-MONTH TERM POSITION – Department of English, Drama and Creative Writing

The Department of English, Drama and Creative Writing invites applications for a six-month term position. The successful candidate will teach the following courses in person:

• 30.274 Creative Writing
• 30.353 Creative Writing: Poetry
• 30.459 Advanced Seminar in Creative Writing

The successful candidate will join a department with supportive colleagues that are actively working towards equity, diversity, inclusion, and decolonization in their research, creation, and teaching programs. The candidate will have opportunities to develop their career and have access to a Professional Development Allowance. Additionally, multiple professional mentorship opportunities are available to the successful candidate. Willingness to participate collegially in service to the department, university, and the community that it serves will be expected.

The essential qualification is an MFA or MA in Creative Writing. Applicants seeking to establish an experiential/traditional equivalency to the Master’s degree are invited to contact the Chair of the Selection Committee for more information on how to establish equivalent academic or professional credentials.

Applicants must demonstrate teaching competence and expertise in the field and must have an active research/creation agenda.

Expected Start Date: 1 Jan, 2027
Rank and Salary: commensurate with qualifications and experience
