"90 Scholars for the 90th Anniversary Faculty Recruitment Program"

To celebrate the 90th Anniversary of The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, we proudly launch the landmark 90 Scholars for the 90th Anniversary faculty recruitment program. As an innovative world-class university guided by our updated 2025 vision and mission, PolyU is committed to advancing excellence in education and high-impact research, nurturing global talent, and contributing to the sustainable development of Hong Kong, the Nation, and the world. Our standing as a top tier global institution is firmly affirmed by exceptional international rankings: 54th in the QS World University Rankings 2026 and 58th in the U.S. News & World Report Best Global Universities 2025–2026, underscoring our academic rigor, research innovation, and global influence.

This prestigious initiative is designed to attract exceptional scholars across transformative, frontier defining fields: artificial intelligence and related areas, robotics and embedded intelligence, microelectronics, aerospace technology, advanced manufacturing, life sciences, materials science, new energy, and architecture and urban sustainability. Applicants in other areas of strategic importance to the University are also most welcome. By recruiting 90 distinguished academics and rising young leaders, we aim to strengthen interdisciplinary research capacity, accelerate fundamental breakthroughs, and shape the future of global scientific and technological progress.

This initiative will be implemented as part of the University’s well established Strategic Hiring Scheme. All faculty members recruited through the Strategic Hiring Scheme will receive a start-up grant of no less than HKD 3 million. Outstanding young scholars under the age of 45 will be awarded the title “Presidential Young Scholar” and receive a start-up grant of no less than HKD 4 million.
