A 3D Bioprinted Skeletal Muscle–Adipose Model to Investigate Functional Food Targeting Insulin Resistance
Metabolic disorders such as type 2 diabetes are increasingly associated with complex interactions between multiple tissues involved in glucose regulation. However, conventional in vitro models often lack the physiological relevance needed to capture these interactions. This project aims to develop an advanced three-dimensional (3D) in vitro platform that better represents key features of metabolic tissue function. The model will be used to evaluate selected functional food for their potential support metabolic health. By providing a more predictive and translational system, this platform supports the identification and development of novel bioactive solutions with strong potential for future health and commercial applications.
