A digital twin-enabled ultra-precision cobot assembly system for optical components
The project aims at researching a disruptive digital twin-enable ultra-precision assembly system and technology for optical components using cobot. Digital twin, artificial intelligence and autonomous control technologies will be explored to achieve the required 10-fold of improvement in assembly precision than state-of-the-art.
The successful candidate will firstly perform literature review on robot-based assembly technology, AI and digital twin. The key research tasks are to create and evaluate a new ultra-precision assembly approach and its test-bed at University. The candidate will work closely with industrial sponsor on research development and its potential industrial implementation.
