Job Summary
The Program Manager for the Aerospace Academy of the Eastern Shore
( AAES ) serves as Old Dominion University’s on-site liaison to the
lab school and supports the implementation of the Academy’s
mission, vision, and strategic priorities under the supervision of
the Executive Director of the Center for Educational Innovation and
Opportunity. The Program Manager coordinates outreach, partnership
development, sustainability initiatives, and operational
activities; supports curriculum development and implementation in
both Canvas and classroom settings; assists with instructional
equipment and resource management; conducts site visits and
implementation support activities; develops marketing and
communications materials; and collaborates with school, university,
industry, and community partners to ensure the successful operation
and continuous improvement of the lab school.
The primary location will be at the Eastern Shore Community
College. The position is expected to visit the four school
locations on a weekly to bi-weekly basis. The locations are Arcadia
High School, Chincoteague High School, Nandua High School, and
Northampton High School. Occasional travel to other ODU locations
may be required.

Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in education, STEM, or a related field, or an
equivalent combination of education, training, and relevant
experience.
Working knowledge of higher education environments.
Working knowledge of K–12 school systems, specifically high
schools.
Strong written and oral communication skills with excellent
organizational and interpersonal abilities.
Proficiency in brand development and creative program
development.
Proficiency working in a virtual environment, including
experience with online collaboration tools.
Ability to establish and maintain effective professional
working relationships.
Willingness and eagerness to learn and grow individually and as
part of the lab school team.
Demonstrated experience with event planning, project
management, and collaborative team-based work.
Demonstrated experience cultivating and sustaining partnerships
with industry, community, or workforce organizations.
Some experience in STEM education and fields.
Some experience leading instructional innovation such as
experiential and interdisciplinary learning.
Preferred Qualifications
Working knowledge of 3D printers.
Working knowledge of laboratory schools.
Working knowledge of design thinking processes and experience
applying them in educational, research, or workforce
contexts.
Considerable experience working in or with K–12 education settings,
higher education, or community-based learning environments.
Some experience designing or supporting experiential learning
models, including case-based, problem-based, or project-based
learning.
Some background in aerospace and aviation education.
Some experience collaborating with educators, faculty, or program
leaders to support instructional innovation.
Some experience supporting student recruitment, outreach, or
pathway development.
Some experience as a K–12 STEM teacher.
Some experience in coordinating engineering and science labs with
aligned equipment needs.
Some experience providing professional learning experiences.
Educational Administration Endorsement preferred.
