Fixed-term: The funding for this post is available for three years.

The Faculty of Economics and Selwyn College seek to appoint an Abdey Isaac Newton Trust Academic Career Development Fellow for a three-year term commencing in September 2026.

The Fellowship is offered through partnership between the Faculty of Economics and Selwyn College.

As an Abdey Isaac Newton Trust Academic Career Development Fellow, you will have an opportunity to:

  • enjoy protected time for an independent research project;
  • be embedded in a Faculty research and teaching culture;
  • teach in Colleges in small groups;
  • in some cases, act as a College Director of Studies (in years 2 & 3 of the Fellowship);
  • teach undergraduate and/or Masters students in a Faculty setting;
  • be mentored by Faculty members in academic skills (teaching, research, publication, grant applications, academic administration).

Eligible candidates will be at an early stage of their career with typically less than three years' experience post-PhD/equivalent, exclusive of any career breaks.
