Advertised Job Summary
Academic Advisor (Student Services Program Coordinator II), Minimum Salary: $41,258 per year, USCA Academic Advisement. To employ a proactive/intrusive advising approach to advise first-year and pre-professional students in USC Aiken’s Office of Academic Advising, a component of the Center for Student Achievement. The Academic Advisor will advise first-year students from Orientation through the first year or until program admission, monitor student progress, initiate contact during critical points of the semester, manage student cases and document related issues, guidance provided, and follow-up steps. Further, the Advisor will assist students in developing academic degree plans along with long- and short-term goals, and train students to use available tools, resources, and technologies to promote student success. Advisor will support the Center for Student Achievement as needed. Minimum Requirements: Bachelor’s degree and 2 or more years of experience, which may be substituted by an equivalent combination of certification, training, education, and/or experience. Preferred: Experience in academic advisement, counseling, or other student service area in Higher Education. Experience with Banner, DegreeWorks, EAB Navigate, or related student management and advisement software. Experience in Microsoft Office 365 and OneDrive. Application deadline: August 18, 2025. Preferred Qualifications

Excellent oral, written, communication, and organizational skills. Ability to work collaboratively with students, faculty, and staff. Ability to work in a team environment and individually. Ability to work in a multi-tasked, high-volume environment while completing multiple and competing priorities. Ability to work with minimal supervision. Public speaking and presentation skills. Possess advanced Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
