Academic and Global Programs Coordinator
Essential Job Duties
The Academic and Global Programs Coordinator provides leadership and administrative support at the intersection of global engagement and academic excellence within the College of Education (CED). This position is responsible for coordinating the lifecycle of global initiatives, including faculty partnerships, study abroad opportunities, visiting scholar support, and collaboration with the University's Office of Global Engagement (OGE).
In addition to global programming responsibilities, the position supports academic program assessment, curriculum innovation, and strategic academic planning across the College. The role partners closely with department heads, program coordinators, and faculty to support academic program quality, analyze assessment and enrollment data, and assist with the development and implementation of innovative academic opportunities for undergraduate and graduate students. This position helps ensure that the College's academic portfolio remains competitive, measurable, and aligned with institutional priorities related to research, teaching, innovation, and global engagement.
Primary Responsibilities
Global Programs Coordination - 50%
- Collaborate with faculty and staff to support the development and implementation of global engagement initiatives aligned with the College's strategic priorities.
- Coordinate and support global learning opportunities for College of Education students, including study abroad programs, exchange opportunities, and international teaching partnerships.
- Assist with the coordination of visiting scholars, faculty exchanges, and international partnerships involving inbound and outbound faculty engagement.
- Serve as the primary College of Education liaison with the NC State Office of Global Engagement (OGE) regarding global programming activities and student support needs.
- Coordinate logistical and operational elements related to global experiences, including communication, scheduling, student support, and program administration.
- Communicate with and provide support to international exchange students participating in College of Education programs, serving as a resource and liaison as needed between students, faculty, CED, and OGE.
- Partner with the College of Education Communications team to support communications and promotional efforts related to global engagement initiatives and activities.
Academic Program Assessment and Reporting - 25%
- Support the collection, assessment, and presentation of academic program data and metrics, including measures related to global programming and student success outcomes.
- Assist in aligning global program outcomes with broader academic assessment standards and institutional reporting expectations.
- Partner with department heads, program coordinators, and faculty to interpret assessment findings and support continuous program improvement efforts.
- Prepare reports, summaries, and supporting materials related to academic program effectiveness, assessment activities, and strategic planning initiatives.
Course and Curriculum Support - 25%
- Provide administrative and operational support related to the development, revision, and implementation of academic courses and curricula.
- Assist faculty and department leadership in navigating institutional curriculum approval processes and required documentation.
- Support monitoring of enrollment trends, student retention data, and program demand to assist leadership in evaluating academic program effectiveness and competitiveness.
- Collaborate with faculty and academic leadership to support the exploration and development of innovative academic programming opportunities for undergraduate and graduate students.
- Support initiatives that enhance student professional preparation and broaden global perspectives related to PreK-20 education.
