Job Description: GENERAL STATEMENT OF RESPONSIBILITIES: The Academic Coach /Advisor provides direct academic coaching support to students with and without disabilities in the Advantage (TRIO Student Support Services) Program. EXAMPLES OF DUTIES: 1. Assist students in developing studying and learning strategies. 2. Refer students to additional Advantage Program and campus resources to support their learning needs. 3. Consult with Advantage advisors, instructors, and O'Neill Center for Student Access and Support regarding academic support for individual students. 4. Document student contact per grant guidelines. Requirements: MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS : 1. Bachelor's degree in learning disabilities, education, counseling, student services, or related discipline. 2. Experience providing academic coaching, advising, tutoring, student support services, or in related student affairs. 3. Knowledge of executive functioning strategies. 4. Familiarity with Content Management Systems and/or adaptive technology. 5. Strong interpersonal skills. ADDITIONAL PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: 1. Prior work experience with students with disabilities. 2. Experience in a community college or college-prep setting. 3. Experience in TRIO or another comprehensive student support program. Additional Information: COMPENSATION : Anticipated starting (Interval 1) rate of $36.55 per hour for up to 18 hours per week.
