Academic Coordinator, PreCollege Summer Intensive
General Purpose
MICAs 2 and 4-week Pre-College Art and Design Program offers an intensive, college-level experience designed to help participants transition from thinking like high school art students to approaching their work as professional artists. Students develop art that demonstrates advanced skills and personal vision, communicate their ideas during daily critiques, and build a professional portfolio. Tailored for rising juniors and seniors (ages 15 to 17), this program immerses students in a vibrant artistic community while exposing them to the rigor of college-level studies. Aligned with MICAs Mission and Vision, the program fosters a welcoming environment that supports students of all races, ethnicities, sexual orientations, gender identities, creative abilities, religious beliefs, political affiliations, and socio-economic backgrounds.
