Academic Dean
The College of the Resurrection is one of the 10 residential theological colleges of the Church of England tasked with preparing men and women for ordained ministry. Uniquely living in close proximity to a monastic community, the Community of the Resurrection, Ordinand and independent students are engaged in study for undergraduate and post-graduate qualifications, mostly validated by the University of Durham (Common Awards).
Reporting to the Principal, the new Academic Dean will share in the formation, training, teaching and tutoring of students, both resident and dispersed, having special responsibility for academic formation and curriculum development.
The new Academic Dean will
- Be able to provide strategic and operational oversight for the College’s academic programmes
- Have experience of teaching and assessment at undergraduate and/or graduate level
- Have a specialism in Biblical Studies teaching
- Have a doctoral degree in a field relevant to the curriculum.
- Be a priest or lay minister
- Have commitment to the training and formation of men and women in residential mode for ordained and lay ministry.
- Be eager to share in the social and worshipping life of a relatively tight-knit community
