Job Description

The Division of Hospitalist and General Internal Medicine at the University of Maryland School of Medicine is recruiting full-time hospitalists for non-tenure track faculty positions at our University of Maryland Medical Center Downtown and Midtown campuses. These positions will provide attending hospitalist responsibilities on our Direct Care Hospitalist Services at both campuses, though they will be primarily based at one of the two campuses. This hospitalist staffing model aligns with the faculty staffing model of the University of Maryland School of Medicine, in which faculty's clinical responsibilities typically span both campuses. Clinical responsibilities include participation in our faculty group practice with more than 30 other hospitalists, medical student teaching, and supervision of residents on inpatient services. These positions will provide coverage including, but not limited to, medical transplant patients, general internal medicine patients on teaching and nonteaching services, medical consultations, transplant medicine consultations, and co-management of surgical services. There are also opportunities for candidates with a desire to work as a nocturnist, providing overnight coverage on these services, with appropriate salary differential applied.

Expected Faculty Rank & Salary

Expected faculty rank is Assistant Professor, however, rank, tenure status and salary will be dependent upon selected candidate's qualifications and experience.

Expected salary range for Assistant Professors is $131,500 (min) and $286,420 (max). The referenced salary range reflects base pay, which is based on faculty rank and years in rank. This salary range does not include all components of the departmental faculty compensation program or pay from participation in departmental variable compensation programs. Therefore, the actual compensation paid to the selected candidate may vary from the salary range stated herein.

Benefits
