- Monitors and assists faculty and students in the educational resource facility (such as the laboratory, learning/technology center, etc.) in support of educational and learning outcomes.
- Operates various instruments and/or machinery (may be restricted from student use), assists students using permitted equipment, and provides instruction, training, and oversight for safe operation; may be responsible for designing, fabricating, and/or machining necessary components for student and/or faculty projects.
- Collaborates with and provides support to faculty to ensure educational resource facility creates desired student experiences and achieves educational objectives.
- Ensures the educational resource facility is functional and safe at all times; enforces safety standards and clean-up procedures; performs basic preventative maintenance, repairs, and upgrades of equipment; identifies potential problem areas and recommends courses of action.
- Maintains inventory of necessary supplies (replacement parts for equipment, tools, material supplies, chemicals, samples, specimens, etc); provides recommendations for budget and purchase of necessary equipment, supplies, and/or materials.
- Assists in updating instructional manuals and lab-related documents.
- May give lab demonstrations or tours to groups visiting the school/department.
- May oversee and provide supervision to student employees.

EDUCATION
Required
- Associate's degree (preferably in a related field).
WORK EXPERIENCE
Required
- 1 year of related industry/field experience.
Preferred
- 3 years of related industry/field experience.

The role frequently requires the ability to move about the work environment and to position oneself to operate laboratory equipment effectively. The role requires the ability to move objects weighing up to 25 pounds and will occasionally work near moving mechanical parts.
