The School of Health & Counselling is seeking a highly motivated Counsellor with a minimum of three years’ practice experience, or equivalent significant counselling experience, who is a member of NZAC or NZCCA. The successful applicant will have either a background in teaching or a strong interest in developing a teaching career within tertiary education.

It is preferred that the applicant holds a Master’s qualification (or is working towards one) in counselling or a related field. In alignment with NZAC competencies, particularly those relating to Te Tiriti o Waitangi, cultural safety, and bicultural practice, demonstrated knowledge of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and the ability to support the teaching and embedding of Māori world views within counselling practice would be highly beneficial. This includes contributing to culturally responsive, ethically grounded teaching, and supporting students to develop professional competence in working with tangata whenua and diverse communities.
