About the position
The Academic Skills Advisor - Online Learning is based within the Library Learning Services (LLS) team. The role supports strategic initiatives aimed at improving online learning environments for the Library and supports face-to-face engagement at the Albury-Wodonga campus. This role is designed to complement existing Academic Skills Advisor roles while focusing on developing digital learning resources and interfaces that benefit all users by applying a Universal Design for Learning (UDL) lens.
Working collaboratively across campuses, teams and disciplines, the ASA- Online Learning will contribute to the development and delivery of accessible learning resources. The position supports the goal of creating barrier-free participation in university life through innovative and accessible digital learning experiences.
This position will supervise two direct reports working across locations and reports to the Manager, Digital and Frontline Services.
Skills and Experience
To be considered for this position, you will have
- Demonstrated experience in tertiary teaching or advising, with the ability to identify and respond to the learning needs of diverse student cohorts, particularly those undertaking online learning.
- Strong understanding of the challenges faced by students who learn online in Australian higher education, and strategies to address these through inclusive learning support.
- Experience applying user experience (UX) design principles to the development of support resources or services.
- Ability to apply evidence-based educational practices to design, implement, and evaluate online learning resources that foster independent learning and academic success.
Desirable
- Experience in curriculum co-design or course development with a focus on embedding academic literacies for online cohorts.
- Familiarity with learning analytics, equity metrics, and reporting tools.
- Understanding of digital literacy frameworks and ethical use of GenAI in education.
