Clinical responsibilities may include transplant and general hepatology, as well as outreach activities. The role includes both inpatient and outpatient care, with inpatient time shared on a rotating basis among the hepatology faculty. Academic duties may involve teaching or mentoring gastroenterology fellows and medical house staff, contributing to weekly educational conferences, and participating in clinical or basic science research. As a regional leader in liver transplantation, our program has successfully performed over 400 liver transplants to date, with projections exceeding 50 transplants this year.
