Assesses operational needs regarding the Access Control System. Monitors and maintains access control hardware and assists the campus with troubleshooting, repair and hardware problems. - Installs, repairs and makes modifications on a variety of access control board card readers, electric locks and other supportive devices.
- Basic programming of system hardware.
- Verifies field hardware interface and integration with other security systems.
- Oversees the maintenance and replacement of tools and various peripheral devices including exit device requests, contacts and door locking hardware.
- Reviews service order requests and coordinates work to be performed with customers on campus.
- Conducts Quality Control on all Third-Party installation of access control devices.
- Monitors and processes alarms from the access control system, by distinguishing alarm types associated with hardware alarms and response alarms.
- Verifies alarms are being generated based on ranking of alarms as well as decreasing false positives.
- Notify appropriate parties of all alarms.
- Regularly updates and maintains Access Control System information into computer database.
- Receives incoming phone calls from campus Department Access Users and assists with troubleshooting.
- Creates and assigns user rights and permissions to access the Electronic Access Control Software.
- Verify door peripherals are working correctly and report any defects to Access Control Facilities Department.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
High School Diploma or GED Required
Department is willing to accept education in lieu of experience.
MQ: Requires a basic knowledge of grammar, spelling, punctuation and simple mathematical functions like percentages, ratios, etc. as might normally be acquired through attainment of a high school diploma or GED. Education verification will be conducted upon acceptance of an employment offer.
Requires a minimum of three (3) years of directly job-related experience. Experience with Lenel Software and Access Control Installation strongly preferred. Certification/Licensing: Requires technical certification or licensing directly related to the job. Must be able to obtain Lenel Core Certification within a year from hire.
