The Access to Achievement Specialist supports students with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities ( IDD ) by coordinating programs, providing individualized advising and case management, and promoting inclusive campus engagement. The role strengthens academic access, credential attainment, and career readiness through mentoring, referrals, assistive technology integration, and collaboration with faculty and campus partners. It also manages key program operations—including workshops, data tracking, reporting, and the Summer Preparedness Program—to ensure students have the resources, supports, and pathways needed for long‑term educational and employment success. Education Required: Bachelor's degree in education, Special Education or related area from an institutional accredited post-secondary institution. Education Preferred: Master's degree in education, Special Education or a related field from an institutional accredited post-secondary institution. Experience Required: Greater than three years of experience within a postsecondary institution with teaching, counseling, or advising individuals with IDD . Greater than two years of experience with use of assistive technology for individuals with IDD . Community College administrative and/or teaching experience. Experience with distance learning and/or alternate instructional delivery systems.
