About Covering Wisconsin:
As a vital piece of the Health & Well Being Institute, Covering
Wisconsin (CWI) focuses on helping people with publicly available
health insurance. The scope of our work including helping with
enrolling, renewing, paying for, troubleshooting challenges with,
and using coverage to access preventive and other beneficial care.
CWI began in 2003 and has been a federally-designated health
insurance Navigator entity since 2014. With a team of 20, CWI
serves any resident of Wisconsin through a combination of funding
from grants, contracts, and contributions. Our approach prioritizes
education, assistance, and relationship-building and provides
information and services in ways that are relevant, accessible, and
easy to understand.
Compensation:
The minimum annual (12 months) starting Salary for the position is
$60,795 but is negotiable based on experience and
qualifications.
This position offers a comprehensive benefits package, including

Required Qualifications:
- Demonstrated ability to effectively work with people from a
wide range of backgrounds and perspectives.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced environment while
prioritizing and managing multiple initiatives at one time.
- Demonstrated experience with building diverse, collaborative
partnerships
- Existing knowledge of common access to care barriers. This
includes awareness of potential mitigation strategies, especially
for rural communities and other populations most at risk for
lacking a medical home or primary care provider or underuse of
preventive services.
Preferred Qualifications:
- At least one year of experience working on a program that is
grant or contract-funded
- Has existing connections and experience working with entities
such as hospitals, health systems, community health centers, free
and charitable clinics, and policy-focused groups working on access
to care issues
- Strong interpersonal relationships and problem-solving skills
in a team setting.
- Ability to work independently and as a member of a team to
consider the most effective and feasible strategies
Education:
Required Education
Bachelor Degree in social work, sociology, political science,
public health, consumer science, adult education, public policy,
public affairs, public or health care administration, health
communication, or related field.
Preferred Education
Master Degree preferred.
Preferred Certifications
Previous certification as a Health insurance Navigator, Certified
Application Counselor (CAC), or agent/broker is preferred.
