Accessibility Specialist
The Accessibility and Disability Resource Center is seeking an Accessibility Specialist to support students with disabilities by coordinating accommodations, connecting students with campus resources, and addressing access-related concerns. This role also partners with faculty to help them support the students they teach through effective accommodation practices and collaborative problem-solving. As the ADRC moves through an exciting period of transition, we are eager to meet candidates who are excited to collaborate, bring fresh perspective, and help strengthen accessibility support at OU.
Duties:
- Performs office duties and coordination in support of student programs or services.
- Maintains files indicating student progress, letters of recommendations, transcripts, etc., as required.
- Assists students and residents by providing information pertaining to lectures, exams, national board exams, financial aid, textbook procurement, etc.
- Interfaces with Student Services in matters concerning grades, transcripts, and student status.
- Participates in planning and implementation of orientation for new students or medical residents.
- Coordinates schedules or rotations for students and/or medical residents within or outside the college or department.
- Interfaces with physicians and hospitals while representing the University in order to explain the program, gather information needed to facilitate scheduling, etc.
- Performs various duties as needed to successfully fulfill the function of the position.
Required Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution
- 1 year of related experience
Equivalency/Substitution: Experience or a combination of education & related experience can be considered in lieu of degree. A one-to-one ratio is used to determine the number of years of experience required in place of a degree.
