Williams College seeks an organized and detail-oriented Accommodations Coordinator to provide front-line support across two student-facing campus departments: Housing and the Office of Accessible Education (OAE). The Accommodations Coordinator will serve as a primary point of contact for students navigating accommodation requests, with a particular focus on providing support and fostering interoffice collaboration in the housing accommodations process.
As part of a dynamic and collaborative team, the Accommodations Coordinator is responsible for managing daily communications, tracking accommodation requests in specialized software platforms, and helping to ensure the smooth operation of critical workflows related to housing selection and the implementation of student disability accommodations, including the launch of a new campus Testing Center.

Responsibilities:
The Accommodations Coordinator is a full-time, dual-reporting role shared between Housing and the Office of Accessible Education (OAE), serving as the primary front-line point of contact for student and campus inquiries across both departments. Responsibilities include:
- Greet visitors and respond to inquiries across phone, email, and digital ticketing systems while strictly maintaining student privacy and confidentiality.
- Support and collaborate with campus partners on the Housing Accommodations Review Team to record and communicate student housing accommodation determinations.
- Manage outreach and information resources, including scheduled communications and website content.
- Monitor and track all accommodation requests, generating follow-up communications to students, faculty, and staff, as needed.
- Operate and maintain information systems and software to track and report on accommodation workflows.
- Coordinate testing room reservations for midterm and final exams, managing a centralized, proctored testing center during high-volume exam periods.
- Assist with the hiring and supervision of student front desk staff within OAE.
The Accommodations Coordinator also supports other departmental projects and initiatives as needed. Evening and weekend work will be needed at certain points throughout the year. This position does not require lifting or moving items beyond 20 lbs., but does require bending, climbing and descending stairs, walking, and sitting for extended periods of time.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Ability to maintain a professional, calm, and collaborative approach when navigating sensitive personal health information or addressing community concerns.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills with an attention to detail.
- Ability to communicate effectively in speech and writing, balancing professionalism, efficiency, and compassion.
- Ability to work either independently or as part of a team, balance competing timelines, and organize details.
- A commitment to maintaining high standards of privacy and confidentiality.
- Ability to work effectively with a diverse population of students, faculty, and staff.
- Experience learning new software and comfort navigating evolving digital tools and technologies.
Preferred Qualifications:
- A Bachelor's degree or at least two years of professional experience supporting students within a higher education setting is preferred
- Knowledge and experience with StarRez and/or Accommodate database systems
Hybrid on-site/remote work arrangements may be available 1 day per week with approval for employees based in NY, MA, CT, or VT; subject to review and revision as policy evolves. Remote work may be temporarily unavailable at certain times of the year due to the role's responsibilities.
