Coastal Carolina University is currently accepting applications for the full-time position of Accountant in the Coastal Educational Foundation.

A key member of the accounting team, this position manages accounts receivable, assists with financial reporting and monthly reconciliations, and facilitates gift acknowledgment communication with donors. It also performs reporting for university colleges and the Office of Advancement and Alumni Engagement.

Duties include:

• Accounts Receivable Management: Maintain accurate records, process gift contributions, ensure proper coding and recording in the donor software system, analyze transactions for compliance with audit and IRS regulations, and respond to inquiries.
• Data Processing and Reporting: Develop systems and procedures for data processing, provide financial information to stakeholders, and produce monthly reports such as budget-to-actual reports and cash flow statements.
• Financial and Accounting Support: Assist with annual budgets, monitor performance, perform reconciliations, prepare materials for the Board of Directors, and stay informed on regulations.
• Donor Communication: Prepare acknowledgments, tax receipts, pledge reminders, and donor statements.
• Accounting Reports Management: Create and manage reports using accounting software, and review processes for improvements.

Required Qualifications:

A high school diploma and professional experience in accounting, auditing, finance, or commercial lending.

Preferred Qualifications:

A bachelor's degree and at least two years of experience in accounting, auditing, or finance; experience in governmental or non-profit accounting; experience with Blackbaud software.
