Overview
The Accounting and Finance programme from the University of Bristol candidates entering the PhD programme are required to take taught units in their first year and to participate in PhD workshops and reading groups. Students are also encouraged to undertake further training in agreement with their supervisor for the duration of their studies.

PTE Academic: 71
PTE Academic (Pearson Test of English) is a language test that enables students to demonstrate their writing, listening, speaking, and reading skills when applying to study in English. The score refers to a total score which ranges between 10 and 90.
IELTS: 7
The International English Language Test System (IELTS) tests your English-language proficiency on a scale of 1 – 9. The score refers to the combined average score of 4 subjects (writing, listening, speaking, and reading).
Other requirements
General requirements: The applicant must have an upper second-class honours degree in a relevant subject or an equivalent qualification, and either have completed or be completing a master's qualification from a UK university (or equivalent). At Master's level, we expect a Merit as a minimum, with a Distinction in the research component. In the majority of cases, an overall award of Distinction is desirable. Where the mark is not yet awarded, predicted marks will be assessed.
