Remuneration: Level 5 $88,717 - $100,386 (depending on experience) + 17% super + leave loading

Why Your Role Matters: The Operational Finance team at UNSW delivers key financial services across the University, including Finance Systems, process improvements, and core operations such as Accounts Payable and Receivable. Our goal is to provide high-quality transactional services while driving continual improvement and supporting UNSW’s financial strategy.
We are seeking an Accounts Payable Officer to join our team. Reporting to the Accounts Payable Team Leader, you’ll be responsible for the accurate and timely processing of invoices, supplier reconciliations, and vendor management, while providing excellent support to stakeholders across the University.
Key responsibilities:
- Process invoices, credits, and payment requests accurately and on time.
- Review and match purchase orders to invoices in line with procedures.
- Maintain vendor records and ensure data accuracy.
- Reconcile supplier statements regularly to ensure the supplier accounts are up to date.
- Respond to complex enquiries and provide system troubleshooting support (e.g., PeopleSoft).
- Deliver professional advice and support to stakeholders on purchasing and payment processes.
- Collaborate with colleagues to manage workloads and respond to peak periods.
Skills and Experience:
- Tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline is desirable, or equivalent experience.
- Ability to proactively resolve diverse problems using judgement and initiative.
- Strong attention to detail while operating efficiently.
- Excellent customer service skills, both verbal and written, for internal and external stakeholders.
- Experience working collaboratively in a team and mentoring less experienced staff.
- General understanding of financial ledgers and their applications.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills in a high-volume environment.
- Proficient in IT systems (e.g., PeopleSoft) and Microsoft Excel.
