"Acting Assistant Professor in Mathematics"

Applications are invited for one or more non-tenure track Acting Assistant Professor positions. This is a full-time position with an anticipated start date of September 16, 2026. The position is reviewed annually for reappointment. With satisfactory performance in each year, we expect the successful applicant to be appointed for a total of three academic years.

All University of Washington faculty engage in teaching, research, and service. A successful application will be an excellent independent researcher and have an established track record teaching or working as a teaching assistant.

Washington State Law requires that this ad list a binding salary range. The base salary range for this position will be $7,800 to $9,200 per month, paid for 9 months ($70,200 to $82,800 annually), commensurate with experience and qualifications, or as mandated by a U.S. Department of Labor prevailing wage determination.

Qualifications

Applicants are required to have a PhD, or foreign equivalent, in Mathematics or a related field by the starting date. Applicants must be highly qualified for teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels and be pursuing an independent research program in mathematics.
