Monmouth University is seeking applications for an Adjunct Professor of Anthropology in the History and Anthropology department.
The candidate is expected to: teach 3 – 6 credits per semester, hold office hours (be available to meet with students a minimum of one hour per week per 3 credits taught), and use the university's designated LMS system (D2L). Courses are taught in person at the West Long Branch campus.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Teach 3-6 credits during the semester.
- Develop and deliver course lectures, discussions and assignments in accordance with the curriculum and learning objectives.
- Provide time during the week to meet with students outside of class.
- Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment conducive to student engagement and academic success.
- Develop and administer projects and exams to evaluate student learning outcomes and provide grades in a timely manner.
- Provide timely feedback and guidance to students to support their learning and development.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Master's degree or higher in Anthropology or a related field
- Teaching experience at the post-secondary level
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational and communication skills
Preferred Qualifications:
Specializations in Archaeology (including Maritime) or Cultural Anthropology especially sought. All subfields considered.
