Adjunct - AutoCAD for Electrical Design
JOB GOAL:

Pay is $1304 per credit hour.
GENERAL JOB SUMMARY:
Kirkwood Community College's Industrial Technologies Department is seeking a part-time instructor for CAD-108 CAD for Electrical Design (2 credits). The position requires experience creating and editing drawings using CAD software. Successful candidates will be self-motivated, goal-oriented, and able to communicate complex concepts clearly to students.
The schedule for this course is as follows:
- Section B: M/T/W/TH, 2:05-3:00 PM, January 12th - March 6th
- Section C: T/TH, 3:00-4:30 PM, January 13th - May 4th
Adjunct faculty positions are temporary, part-time positions scheduled intermittently based on institutional need. Adjuncts are not guaranteed work in any semester and are notified of course assignments prior to each term as courses become available.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Effectively organize and teach curriculum in accordance with established syllabi.
- Deliver in-person instruction and engage students.
- Prepare syllabi, evaluate student work, and provide timely and constructive feedback.
- Maintain a safe lab environment.
- Refer students to appropriate college support services as needed.

- Support a welcoming, inclusive environment that values diverse backgrounds and experiences.
- Adapt teaching approaches to meet the needs of a diverse student population.

PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES WITH/WITHOUT REASONABLE ACCOMMODATION:
Position involves working in an office setting. Occasional (10-33%) standing, pushing, pulling and grasping. Frequent (34-66%) reaching and viewing a computer and other types of close visual work. Constant (67-100%) sitting, walking, repetitive motion, talking and hearing.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum of three years of full-time (6000 hours) industry experience in in AutoCAD drafting and familiarity with electrical schematics.
- OR a bachelor's degree in industrial technology, mechanical or electrical engineering, or related field with at least 12 credit hours related to the areas described above.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS, LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS, OR REGISTRATIONS:
- Experience with PLCs.
- Experience teaching at a college level or experience in industrial training.
- Experience working with English Language Learners.
