Adjunct - AY26 Vocational Education Instructor, Biotechnology Non-Credit
The Los Angeles Community College District (LACCD) is accepting applications for Vocational Education Instructor, Biotechnology Non-Credit positions for the 2025 Academic School Year. This is a part-time pool announcement.
Position: The LACCD is seeking dynamic, motivated, and diverse candidates for part-time faculty positions to engage and educate students. Successful candidates will collaborate, communicate, and work as professionals with students, staff, faculty, and administrators. Applicants with a demonstrated commitment to teaching and mentoring a diverse student population are strongly encouraged to apply.
During completion of the adjunct application, applicants will have the opportunity to indicate which of LACCD's colleges are of interest for employment. Qualified applicants may be offered an interview with Noncredit Education Department members at one or more of LACCD's 9 colleges. Final determinations of part-time Noncredit Instructor assignments are contingent upon enrollment, funding, and class availability.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in the biological sciences, chemistry, biochemistry, or engineering; and two years of full-time related professional experience.
- Demonstrated sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds of community college faculty, staff, and students.
Desirable Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Successful applicants should provide verification of employment substantiating industry knowledge, skills, and abilities in areas such as familiarity with career pathways related to Biotech, Clinical Research, Quality Control & Compliance, Laboratory Safety, Career Coaching for the Biotech industry, Cell Cultures, Environmental Health, Environmental Science & Protection, Instrumentation/Calibration Technician, Molecular Biology Technician, and Water Quality Technician.
Duties: The adjunct instructor should be prepared to teach a range of Biotechnology-related courses within the Noncredit Vocational Education discipline and promote engaging and inclusive educational environments that support student learning. The successful candidate will be culturally responsive in interactions with students, faculty, staff, and community members.
Faculty may be required to conduct classes in a virtual learning environment using Canvas, hybrid, or hyflex modalities to support remote learning.
Compensation: The salary schedule for adjunct noncredit instructors begins at $79.20 per standard hour.
