Student Mentorship: Supervise and mentor students providing
comprehensive patient care, ensuring appropriate techniques,
diagnosis, behavioral management, and treatment planning.
Skill Evaluation: Assess students’ hands-on clinical
competencies, professional communication, and patient management
skills.
Operational Integration: Collaborate across clinic teams,
including dental assistants, scheduling staff, and admissions, to
support smooth daily operations.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- DDS, DMD or equivalent dental degree
- Active Dental License in good standing with the Minnesota Board
of Dentistry
- Current CPR/BLS certification
- Demonstrated professional clinical experience providing
comprehensive dental care to pediatric populations (e.g., via
general dentistry, pediatric-focused practices, or
growth-and-development focused care)
Note: Visa sponsorship is not available for this position. All
qualified candidates must be authorized to work in the United
States.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Advanced degree, residency training, or specialty training in a
relevant dental specialty or public health field
- Prior experience in clinical, preclinical faculty teaching and
course coordination
- Demonstrated experience in dental practice management, clinical
leadership, or staff supervision
- Proven ability to work effectively both independently and
within a collaborative team environment
About the Department
The Department of Developmental and Surgical Sciences is home to
five divisions: Pediatric Dentistry, Oral and Maxillofacial
Surgery, Orthodontics, Periodontology, and Hospital and Special
Care Dentistry. It supports the mission of the School of Dentistry
and advances oral and general health through programs in
orthodontics, oral and maxillofacial surgery, pediatric dentistry
and periodontics, a cleft palate/craniofacial clinic and a program
providing oral health services for older adults.

Pay and Benefits
Pay Rang e: $2,013 - $59,755; depen ding on
education/qualifications/experience.
