Job Description:
CONTRACT TYPE: Semester based.
The Department of Criminal Justice and Criminology at Salve Regina
University invites applications for a part-time adjunct position to
teach online graduate level cybersecurity courses in Salve's
master's degree program in Criminal Justice and Cybersecurity. This
position listing is specifically for two courses planned annually
beginning in Fall 2026: CJC 530 Cyberthreat Analysis and CJC 531
Cyberthreat Management. Our graduate courses are delivered in
seven-week sessions using Canvas, and are fully online. Each course
includes one to four live Zoom sessions, typically scheduled by the
instructor on weekday evenings.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Adjunct faculty are expected to:
- Prepare and instruct classes assigned by the graduate program
director
- Ensure class content is up to date and relevant, including new
techniques and resources applicable to the course subject
matter
Use Canvas as the online classroom for interacting with
students
Read, comment on, grade and return student assignments,
projects, reports, etc. in a timely manner
Hold class meetings online (Zoom) one to four times per
course
Complete an online course syllabus at the start of each
semester
Use the Salve learning management system (Canvas) to
disseminate course material and grades to students
Be available on a regular basis to meet with students (office
hours)
Respond to students in a timely manner
Use Salve email to send and receive official email
correspondence
Work collaboratively with other instructors and the graduate
program director
Requirements:
Required :
- Minimum requirement is a master's degree in cybersecurity,
criminal justice, or a related discipline, along with professional
and/or teaching experience.
- Candidates should have an ability to communicate effectively,
to use technology and learning management systems (e.g., Canvas and
Zoom) effectively in teaching and learning, and to work
collaboratively with other members of the department.
